Village Hall AGM – 26th May
It was standing room only at our AGM last Thursday – wonderful to see so many local people attending in support of our Village Hall!
The Councillors in attendance, Ricky Henderson (Lab) and Bill Henderson (SNP), faced many questions from the floor. The meeting was presented with two possible options – a new survey of the whole hall (not just the west wall), by a different firm and with costings included and with a view to possible repair of the west wall, or new build on the existing site. Option 1 was expected to be less costly overall and would hopefully have an earlier outcome. Option 2 would offer superior facilities, but with a cost estimate of £2m over a projected minimum timescale of 2-4 yrs. There was an overwhelming vote in favour of option 1.
Our next Management Committee meeting will take place on Thursday 23rd June. Provided we have more information from the Council following further surveys of the hall, this will be a Public Meeting, 7.00-9.00pm in the gym hall in Juniper Green Primary School which everyone with an interest in the Village Hall’s future is welcome to attend.
